| Where have I been? 2-22-2010. |
| Good question. I used to be pretty good about updating this so-called blog. By "pretty good" I mean about every three months. But eager readers--I know you're out there, Mom--have surely noticed that I've been AWOL for about six months. I have three excellent excuses. 1) I'm lazy. Whoops. Slipped out. That wasn't one of my original three. So make that four excellent excuses. 1) I'm lazy. 2) We had our first child. This is actually a great excuse for putting off just about anything. Do the laundry? I can't, I'm busy with the baby. Pay your taxes? Can't, busy with the baby. Change out of pajamas for the first time in six weeks? Just can't. Up to my eyeballs in baby. Much as I love updating my website, then, it falls somewhat farther down the list than "brush teeth" and "regain tiniest shred of dignity." 3) I'm actually in the midst of redesigning the website in preparation for the launch of the new book. (NEW BOOK!) The Executor will be out April 1, 2010, and in honor of its release I thought I'd freshen the place up. But you know how these spring cleaning projects go: come within throwing range of them and you start to rationalize putting off basic maintenance until the Big Purge. Thus I have left the website to languish while I busy myself with making it better than ever. 4) New new book. Which is to say, in addition to The Exceutor--which, I believe I've mentioned, comes out APRIL 1, 2010--I'm hard at work at another book. Between that and the demands of new fatherhood, I can barely think straight by the end of the day. That's why I'm writing this update in the morning: if I didn't do it now, it wouldn't get done today... Okay, that's all for now. I apologize for my dereliction. Promise to be better.
